Michael Freedman

Managing Partner - Scotwork UAE

Michael is a British Turkish dual national. A graduate in Civil engineering from Sheffield who left UK in 1983 to work in Kuwait, Jordan, Oman and later Turkey in a variety of highway construction projects. He has lived outside of UK ever since. Michael took over a small logistics business in Istanbul and established Turkey's first contract logistics business for the pharmaceutical sector, a business which he sold to DHL in 2002. Thereafter Michael offered business consultancy services to multi-nationals wishing to establish businesses in Turkey. Michael has been a Scotwork Tutor and Principal Licensee since 2008, becoming a partner and international business development director in the UAE Scotwork business. He teaches Scotwork courses in both English and Turkish across all sectors including but not limited to consultancy businesses, FMCG, automotive, white goods and many service sectors whilst providing consultancy support in industrial disputes, interdepartmental conflicts and most frequently commercial change management. Michael has taught Scotwork courses in Europe, The Middle East, Central Asia and USA. Born in Stretford in Manchester he is naturally a Manchester United supporter.

Yannis Dimarakis

Partner - Scotwork UAE

In his courses and speeches, Yannis brings a wealth of cross industry and cross culture experiences and knowledge that provoke his audiences to rethink and question their current practices and perceived strengths and weaknesses. Prior to taking up his post with Scotwork, he completed 17 years in managerial positions in operations and logistics functions in shipping and fast moving consumer goods multinational companies. Of these, he spent 7 years in CEO positions. In 2006 he took up the Scotwork license for Greece and started offering negotiations related training and consulting services. The successful launch was followed by the expansion of the license in Turkey in 2008 were he is now a shareholder and partner. Since 2010 he is a board member of Scotwork in the USA. Yannis is an acknowledged negotiations expert with extensive experience in diverse types of negotiations ranging from trade union - management conflicts, to company buyouts, loan restructuring projects and pharmaceutical industry issues between buyer institutions and multinationals. His Scotwork clientele boasts leading companies from banking, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, energy, telecoms and the service sectors. Yannis often publishes articles on contemporary topics with a negotiation angle. During the peak of the Greek debt crisis in 2015, he offered commentary to the BBC, France 24 and various Greek media networks. He also published his first book “The Greek Negotiation Debacle" which provided an analysis of the failed negotiation strategy of the Greek government in the first half of 2015.

Yeşim McKeag

Consultant - Scotwork UAE

Yeşim graduated in Russian Language and Literature and International Business Management from the University of Istanbul.

In 1997, Yeşim joined Unilever and she worked for Unilever Caucasia in the logistics and demand planning department. Then she took on a role of Supply Chain Manager for the cosmetics category for NAMET (North Africa, Middle East & Turkey). She joined Scotwork in 2012 and has been working as a consultant since then across a very wide range of sectors at all levels.

Yeşim is married, and has one daughter.

Hakan Aytekin

Consultant - Scotwork UAE

Hakan has over 18 years of global management and risk consulting, business development and audit experience with a unique ability to solve complex issues via leading practice and digital or innovative approaches. He has provided professional services to hundreds of varying sized companies in USA, Turkey, EU and Qatar. Through that period working for KPMG in a global audit and advisory capacity he gained experience in Information Technology, Financial Reporting, Internal Auditing, Business Strategy and Supply Chain topics. Since 2018 he has been working as a freelance consultant continuing to serve his clients in Logistics, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Textile and Tourism sectors. Hakan received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and he completed his MBA at Louisiana State University. In 2018, he also completed a certification program from Harvard Business School in Disruptive Strategy. Hakan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in United States.

Aleka Skoura

Aleka Skoura is a New York University graduate with a professional experience of more than 28 years in the field of learning and development. Aleka was the Head of Training, Development & Performance Management Division for the Eurobank Group until June 2014. She was responsible for the design of the Group’s Training and Performance Management Strategy and Policies as well as for the development of a learning environment which is aligned with the business strategy and which provides adequate, up-to-date and effective training to all employees. An advocate of strategic learning and a pioneer in learning agility, Aleka has been offering internal and external consulting and counselling services in the areas of negotiations, organisational design of learning and development and of corporate education, gamification of learning and collaborative learning. During the last years, Aleka is also professionally engaged with management development consulting with a special aspiration to design and assess the ROI of management development initiatives and learning plans, as well as leadership effectiveness coaching to senior executives, working closely with executives that wish to master their soft skills and competencies (Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Negotiations, Resilience, Self-Awareness) in order to assist their teams and their organisations to flourish.

Akis Makropoulos

Since joining Scotwork in 2008, Akis been enjoying being able to help people enhancing and enriching their negotiation performance for their business and personal lives.

Prior to Scotwork Akis lived, studied and worked in different cultures and countries, including Germany, Belgium, the USA and Greece. His academic background is in Business Economics and Strategic Marketing combined with technical studies of International Technical and Financial Cooperation at the RWTH University of Aachen (Germany).

After completing a Trainee program at the EU Commission in Brussels (B), I engaged in coordinating and developing international public-private co- operations of EU Technology Programs. I went on holding leadership positions, specialised in procurement and contract management for large project organisations and companies in the construction, airport management and energy sector in Greece.

As a lead tutor and senior consultant with a multi-lingual capacity (German, English, Greek), Akis had the opportunity to deliver the full suite of Scotwork training as well as advisory services to clients across a wide range of commercial sectors across three continents

Fotini Fevri

Consultant - Scotwork UAE

Fotini is a Computer Science and Human Resources Management graduate, she started her career in EFG Eurobank as a Trainer where she became passionate about people development. She then joined Hay Group as a Management Consultant helping clients develop the HR systems that would enable them to achieve their people strategy. For the next 11 years she moved to the FMCG sector and worked in British American Tobacco in HR Business Partnering and Director roles. Fotini specialised in talent acquisition and management, leadership development, employee relations, coaching and compensation and benefits. In Fotini's last role prior to Scotwork she negotiated with Unions and externally with vendors and suppliers for products and services. Fotini enjoys ballet, going out with friends and negotiating with her two children.
